IntroductionTo carry out component inspection with a focus in the RMI department function, with some instances within other areas on site and within the business. Key ResponsibilitiesThis role is critical to ensure supplier product received into the RMI department meets all specified requirements as detailed on the purchase order and design documentation.Book product into SAP as means of release and feedback any details of non-conforming product back to the supplier for review and investigation. Key Responsibilities The Quality Technician will provide the quality assurance support to the assigned factory areas to ensure the product is built in accordance with customer and company quality requirements while maintaining production flow. - Oversees quality inspection processes including incoming inspection, end of line and in line inspection; works with quality inspectors and engineers to ensure that all required inspections are effective.- Participates in the review of design, manufacturing, test, and supplier documentation in ensure that company and a customer’s quality requirements are fulfilled- Participates with quality-in-the-line activities throughout the plant, helps implement, perform and sustain quality controls at critical process operations. - Helps develop in-line quality system with Quality Manager and Quality Engineers; helps determine all critical inspection points; defines and documents means of measure, how to analyze data and determine required actions if out-of-spec. - Helps determine all standard quality inputs and outputs for each process and documents these standards in order to have clear expectations of start and finish quality for all operator’s processes. - Works with quality inspectors to ensure their effectiveness during end of line and in-line inspection processes and provides training to inspectors when required. - Works with area team leaders and operators in their assigned area to ensure their effectiveness during in line inspection processes. - Assists with the certification and de-certification of operators by auditing their process prior to training signoff and periodic random audits. - Takes responsibility for assigned Quality KPI(S) in the plant and stays involved in continual improvement activities to better our quality performance metrics. - Helps monitor quality-in-the-line controls such as daily area audits, check sheets and process control charting. Reports results to quality engineering and stays involved with assisting quality engineering on corrective actions for out of control processes.- Assists with customer corrective action reports and helps track supplier corrective actions. - Assists in Quality Audits per ISO/IATF Standards – types of audits include but not limited to Process, QMS, and Supplier Quality. - Assists with Military Retention Report data logging and creation, works closely with Quality Manager on details of this reporting requirement.
